I pretty much grew up outside, playing in rain or shine, often staying outside long after dusk as the street lights began to twinkle and light my way home. In the summer we would play on the beach, go sailing, walk up the street for a game of tennis, or hang out at the park.
In the winter, we didn’t take the slopes like many of my friends… we took to the ice. My Dad was a sailmaker, an Olympian, and a world champion ice boater (I can brag because I’m his daughter), so, sailing- both on water and on ice, is in our blood.
Two years ago, we were lucky to introduce Lucy to the world of ice boating. This year, we have been waiting for the perfect day to take her out again. It’s either been too cold, too windy, or too snowy. Hoping the weather cooperates so we can continue our family tradition.
